vulnerable workers

Vulnerable workers are people who are at a higher risk of not knowing or getting their fair workplace rights and benefits due to their specific circumstances or backgrounds.

This term generally refers to workers who, due to factors like language barriers, youth, disability or lack of education, may find it challenging to understand their employment rights or to speak up for themselves in the workplace. These groups are more susceptible to unfair treatment, underpayment or exploitation. It's important for employers and communities to recognise and support these workers to ensure they receive fair and equal treatment in line with their legal rights.
